It’s time to claim your voice. ideas. ethos. taste. work. self.
You are the brand.
You’ve built a name for your company, your platform, your career… but what about a name for yourself?
Now that you've got the itch to evolve, you’re wondering if anyone will “get it” after they’ve known you for just one thing.
Your biggest project or line on your resume has become your brand’s center of gravity, pulling every new idea and ambition into its orbit. Want to launch something new? “But how does that fit?” Explore a different passion? “But you’re so well-known for this!”
You're here because you want to be known for your taste, perspective, and multi-dimensionality, not just your last big win. In order to move forward, you need to step back into the center of your own story.
The old playbook is boxing you in.
The standard brand building method is based on a solid premise: build a strong, focused identity around a single venture. For a specialist, that advice is golden.
But what about the rest of us? The multi-faceted creators, the serial entrepreneurs, the endlessly curious experts? For people whose minds are constantly firing with new ideas, that one-track model is a cage. It forces you to compartmentalize your genius, leaving you to start from square one with every new venture.
The hub goes before the spokes.
We’re flipping the model.
The Self-Centered approach argues that a personal brand doesn’t start with what you do, it starts with who you are. You are the hub. Your values, your taste, your unique perspective, and your story are the nucleus.
Your jobs, projects, and businesses are the spokes that extend from that powerful center. Each spoke can have its own unique flavor—its own ‘baby brand’, if you will—but it draws its core DNA from you.
An infinite loop of investment and returns: a strong hub makes for more authentic projects, and every successful project reinforces the authority and reach of your personal brand.
When your hub is clearly defined, you can add, remove, or pivot your spokes anytime without losing momentum. Launch a podcast? It’s trusted from day one. Write a book? It has a built-in audience. Consult? Your authority is already established. You're no longer just the 'designer person' or the 'founder of X'.
You're you. And people will follow you anywhere.
Your kind of range requires a multi-dimensional brand.
You're ambitious and you've got the receipts to prove it, but you've hit a new kind of ceiling—one that feels more like an identity issue than a business problem.
Self-Centered is for you if you are...
Looking to build beyond the box of one venture
Doing a lot of things, but aren’t sure if it’s giving expansive or identity crisis
Wanting to be known for how your mind works so people trust anything you create
Proud of what you’ve built, but feel like your identity is blending into the background now

[ THE BRAND DOULA ]
Shoutout to the scattered brains 🧠
I was the kid with a well-worn copy of The Devil Wears Prada who dreamed of being the editor-in-chief of a magazine. But I also had an eye for aesthetics, a sixth sense about social experiences, a running list of genius business ideas in my Notes app, and a budding fiction writing career on Wattpad. I knew I was capable of a lot, but that kind of range didn't fit neatly into a single career path. So I built a life that doesn’t require singularity. Now, I get to explore everything I want—brand strategy, writing, social design, culture curation, the list goes on.
I am Self-Centered’s Client Zero—my story created and proved its theory. I secured a "dream job" at Google straight out of graduation. Then...I got laid off along with 12,000 people a few years later. This should've been a disaster, but it wasn't. I transitioned to working full-time in the branding studio I’d been building on the side: the other spoke on my hub. Never losing sight of my multi-dimensional identity ended up being my safety net. It might be yours too.
Self-Centered is inspired by my journey and the journeys of so many others who refuse to be put in a box. I built this for us.

Self-Centered is less about how many years you've been working and more about the complexity of your vision.
It's a perfect fit if you have some experience or projects under your belt (even if they feel scattered) and you're ready to build a more expansive brand around that.
If you're a complete beginner with no existing work to pull from yet, you might want to wait a bit. This experience is most effective when we have some amazing ingredients to cook with.

This is a huge misconception for ambitious professionals. Your company gives you a job title; a strong personal brand gives you a reputation in your industry.
Waiting for your company to put you up for that speaking gig or feature you in an article is a passive career strategy. Self-Centered helps you play offense. It gives you the platform to proactively share your expertise, build a name for yourself, and become a recognized voice in your field. This makes you an undeniable asset within your current role and opens doors to future opportunities—promotions, board seats, and industry panels—that a resume alone never could.
And should your path ever change (as we all learned, it can), your reputation is the asset that follows you, not your job title.

That's the whole point of Self-Centered, actually!
Your art practice and your corporate job aren't in conflict. The traditional branding model was just built for single ventures, so it has no blueprint for connecting the dots across your varied work.
The Self-Centered model connects everything back to the one constant: you (the hub).
We'll find the throughline—your unique taste, your values, how your mind works—and make that the core of your brand. Everything you do is just an expression of the same brilliance at the core.

Take high quality photos that actually look and feel like you. My biggest piece of advice is to skip the generic "personal brand" photo trends and stiff headshots. If a blazer isn't your thing, don't wear one. If your work doesn't involve artfully arranging moodboards on the floor, let's not pretend it does.
The best photos will come from you wearing clothes you love, in settings you actually exist in, making faces that are genuinely yours.
As for timing, it's ideal to have your final photos by the time we kick off the Web Design phase (usually around Week 3 of our project). This allows me to design a site that perfectly complements your look and vibe. If you're planning a new shoot, just let me know during our initial call, and we can coordinate our timelines to make sure everything aligns.

100%! The beauty of Squarespace is how user-friendly it is. As part of our offboarding, I'll give you a video tutorial walking you through how to make common updates to your new site—like adding projects to your Archives, updating your /Now page, or tweaking text and images. The goal is for you to feel completely empowered to run your new digital home.

I typically book projects 1-2 months in advance, but availability can vary. The first step is to fill out the inquiry form below. If it seems like we're a great fit, I'll send you a link to book a consultation call. On that call, we can chat more about your vision and I can give you a clear idea of my next available start date. The sooner you reach out, the sooner we can get you on the calendar!
A note on launching
There’s one important requirement for working together: we launch. This experience is an agreement we make to push past the paralysis of "perfect." I created Self-Centered for passionate people who are ready to put their incredible work out into the world. My mission is to get you 100% launch-ready in our time together. Your promise is to cross the finish line and hit ‘publish.’
